The Cutting Edge Staff is dedicated to giving our students the
individual attention they need to execute proper technique. Our smaller class sizes allow the students to
receive more personalized attention, learn more and have fun at the same time. Smaller class sizes make sure
no fundamental concepts are being missed. A smaller class size also allows teachers to ensure the
students are not developing improper habits or techiniques.

Kati M. Clark - Dance Instructor/Choreographer/Artistic Director
|

Kati has been dancing most of her life. She graduated from Oklahoma City
University with a Bachelor of Science in Dance Management. She was a
member of the American Spirit Dance Company, The Liturgical Dance Company,
and Pep Squad. She has trained under many famous dancers/choreographers from
L.A., NYC, Chicago, & Las Vegas. This includes David Howard, Elizabetha
Petrova, Jo Rowan, Gregg Russell, Frank Hatchett, Joe Lanteri, Joe Tremaine,
Jackie Sleight, Lyn Cramer, Liz Reiter & Tony Capola.

Kathy Leonard - Certified STOTT PILATES Instructor
|
|
Kathy is certified STOTT PILATES instructor as well as a Certified Rehabilitation Nurse.
She received her Essential/Intermediate certification in Mat, Reformer, Cadillac, Chair, and Barrels.
She is currently working towards her Advanced Certification. STOTT PILATES is a Contemporary Approach
to the teachings of Joseph H. Pilates. Kathy is very eager to teach you all the proper techniques to
increase your core stability, strength, and flexibility.

Stacey Zellen - Dance Instructor

Stacey comes to Cutting Edge Center for Dance & pilates with many years of experience as a dancer and
instructor. She graduated from Oakland University, where she studied dance under Laurie
Eisenhower . She also studied under Iacob Lascu & Penny Godboldo. She has performed with the DSO's
presentation of "The Nutcracker", Marygrove College Student Concerts & Recitals, Oakland
University's Resident Dance Company Spring Concert, and Student Concert & Recitals. Stacey has
taught Dance since 1989.

Cyndy Duval - Certified PILATES Instructor
|
|
Cyndy has many years experience as a fitness trainer prior to completing her Stott PILATES training.
Cyndy took the Certification test this summer. Cyndy is very enthusiatic about teaching PILATES,
she will be teaching morning classes as well as one evening per week.

Lauren Terpening
|
|
She is a Senior Theatre Performance major & Dance minor @ Oakland University. Lauren has performed
with the Oakland Dance Theatre as well as choregraphed & performed in numerous OU student
performances. Lauren has been seen on stage in The Laramie Project, Serengeti Tales,
Talking With, I'm Not Stupid, and A Winter Tale. Lauren made her directorial
debut with a performance of Arabian Nights. Lauren's performance in Serengeti Tales
garnered her a nomination to compete at the Kennedy Center American College Theatre Festival.
Lauren is an experienced drummer and recently played for Meadow Brook Theatre's production of
And the World Goes 'Round. Lauren has many years experience working with children.

Ryan Thuman

|
Comes with extensive dance and performing experience. He was a prinicipal actor for a commericals. He was an
extra for numerous movies & commercials. Ryan initated getting National Center for Missing and Exploited
Children and the township of Waterford to declare National Tap Day and National Missing Children's
Day jointly. He has choreographed routines for the Royal Caribbean Cruise Line. Ryan has taught dance for 10
years in Michigan, Ohio, and Washington. Ryan has taught workshops in Tennessee, Washington, Ohio, Michigan
and North Carolina. We are very excited to have Ryan's share his talent & experience with our students.

Mariana Yonova

Mariana has come to Cutting Edge Center for Dance & Pilates with a wealth of Ballet experience.
She performed with the Great Lansing Ballet Company, Marinos Ballet Troup-Italy, Pleven Opera
House in Pleven Bulgaria. She has worked with prominent Ballet Choreographers & pedagogues in
Europe, including Calina Bogoeva, Magdalena Rodriguez Kihano, Henrich Maiorov (St. Pethersburgh),
Nikolai Nikolov, Nedko Bushnakov, and Petar Lukanov. She has toured in Russia, Poland, Germany and
Italy.

Niki Thuman
|

|
Niki is a graduate of Oklahoma City University with a Bachelors in Performing Arts. She has 15 years experience teaching Jazz, Ballet, and Tap. Her credits include EFX starring Michael Crawford and David Cassity, Country Tonite, Dino, The Jerry Lewis Telethon, and A Yeletide Festival with the Oklahoma City Philharmonic Orchestra. During college Niki was a member of the American Spirit Dance Co., the liturgical dance group, and the pep squad. As a teenager she traveled to Russia and Poland as an America Ambassador for the Arts and danced at the Detroit Zoo and in New York for Maloney Productions. Niki has continued her education by becoming a certified member of Dance Masters of America, Dance Masters of Michigan, and the Cecchetti Council of America. She still continues her education through weekly classes and workshops.
